Essex Uni supporting Pendulum!!

This weekend CoverStar played at Essex Uni Summer Ball in Colchester and supported Greg James DJ Set, Roll Deep and PENDULUM!!

Following a giant projected showing of the England v USA game, with a not so great score, CoverStar took to the main stage to kick off the night for the Uni students, celebrating their end of year!!!

The night was full of fair ground rides, drinks from fishbowls, a rave shack (well a garden shed!), a casino and the main stage!! The guys lured the students into the main marquee ready for an epic night of music as front man Luke, got everyone to sing Happy Birthday to front lady, Sam!! Who knew so many drunk Uni Students could sing in tune...

The guys were treated like true stars as they got stopped throughout the night by students raving about their show! They then got to enjoy the Pendulum show for themselves before hanging out with them back stage...

CoverStar hit the Czech Republic!...

...Yes that's right, we travelled 18 hours, 900 Miles and 5 different countries to reach our destination in the middle of the beautiful rural Czech Republic.

The journey started at 7pm on the Thursday evening and we arrived home at 1am on the Monday. It was a great trip and we got to experience an 18 hour drive, the Autobahn, 90p beers, rustick medieval villages, Czech breakfasts, miles and miles of deserted countryside, and a beautiful Russian wedding day, followed by a very crazy, 'heavy' after party.

The gig itself was amazing - just look at our venue!!...Russian's definitely know how to party! We were also graced with the presence of one of Russia's most famous DJs, DJ Sanches, who so kindly added to our show by running around the room with our lights and knocking over glasses in his path!! Between our sets we also got to watch an epic fireworks display, followed by a little karaoke once we'd finished and then a casual conversation over whiskey til 2am!

We were made to feel so welcome by the hotel staff and all of the guests at the wedding. We can't thank them enough for their kind hospitality and their great attempts at speaking the English language to make us feel at home!! We made some great friends and only hope to be invited back to Russia and the Czech Republic in the future. Thanks to Katya (the bride) too for her kind words...
